Remarks

The ATC told me to fly direct to Priest (ROM) instead of Panoche (PXN), which is a shorter route. However, I did not get the Panoche VOR signal for a long time. I was OK to get there because I had a handheld GPS. I think (at least handheld) GPS is must-have.

We had moderate turbulence right after taking off Camarillo until the shoreline (V23). We also sometimes had strong downdrafts so that I could not climb.
